Notion Systems GmbH Awarded First Prize in BWCON CyberOne High-Tech Award

Honored in the start-up category.

Notion Systems GmbH has been awarded first prize in this year’s CyberOne high-tech award by BWCON (Baden WĂĽrttemberg Connected) in the start-up category.

The CyberOne economic initiative celebrated its 15th anniversary on June 13, 2013, and as part of this celebration, presented the award to those growth companies in 2013 from different technology sectors in Baden WĂĽrttemberg with the best business concepts.

The experts in the jury honored Notion Systems in the category “Start-up – from high-tech printers to radio sensor technology” with prize money of €10,000.

The company develops printer types which use a new type of print strategy and modular design to offer levels of flexibility not achieved to date. The new printer generation of inkjet printers is in demand everywhere in industry where high-precision positioning and accurate dosage of technical inks is important. Therefore they are being used more and more frequently for functional printing and in the manufacture of printed electronics. In functional printing the ink is not printed on the paper, but technical inks are applied for masking in chemical processes, for direct metallisation and for coating.

Examples of this are solar cells, displays and LEDs. This process can also be used to apply electronic components directly onto a range of materials such as circuit boards or foils. Inkjet printers from Notion Systems can be used in a wide range of industrial fields from automation, photovoltaics to electronics.

Carsten Schimansky and Michael Doran, both managing directors of Notion Systems, view this award as the confirmation of their idea to revolutionise printing technology.
